A widespread myth about bowel cancer is that it only affects older people. Regular early screening helps with the prevention and early treatment of this common cancer. Although bowel cancer is more typical in men, it also affects women. Your risk of bowel cancer also increases as you age, and being aged 50 and over is one of the most significant risk factors.
